Paid Research Projects (Non Profit Making Service)

We are on the Hampshire Record Office list of Researchers and are  happy to undertake paid research (at very competitive rates) for projects where the information required is more than a straight forward look-up.  - ranging from a search for an ancestor where the parish or time frame is uncertain to a blanket search for a surname in a given parish. This could include preparation of whole family trees or the resolution of long standing family history problems.

We are also willing to digitally photograph buildings, villages or other places which perhaps have nostalgic memories for our clients.  This could include houses where ancestors lived or churches where they were baptised, married or buried. 

E-mail us for a no obligation, pre-agreed price. This is a non profit making service as all fees received are ploughed back into the purchase of fiche and other resources for the Hampshire OPC Project.

 

We are also happy to offer a  FREE look up service BUT THIS IS LIMITED TO THOSE who are supporting the OPC Project by either transcribing, donating completed transcriptions or offering to buy microfiche for others to transcribe.    Requests from non-supporters may be ignored

Requests must be within a maximum 5 year time frame and from the Parish Register fiche that we have at home.  These are listed  below. If your request is for Portsea or Gosport, an exact date and church must be provided in view of the considerable number of churches available. A look up is validation or the provision of the full details of a known, named event. We do NOT do free blanket look ups.

A BMD quarter or reference has no relevance to a parish register entry. This is because a baptism can take place at anytime between babyhood and adulthood and not necessarily where the birth took place. Similarly, a death is registered in the registration district where the death occurred and this is often different to the parish where the burial was carried out.
